Rob's Amazing Day on Hollywood Boulevard (Flashback to 1992)
This is sort of how I remember my adventures on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Like many young people, I moved to California looking for a new start. I was too stupid to realize it was probably a bad idea. (I was 21, I knew everything!) The desire was too great to deny and I figured if I didn't do it, I never would I didn't move to Hollywood. No. I moved to Hemet, California. I had a job awaiting me at my uncle's factory making parts for different audio and video components

From the ICFH Archives: The Wild Life lobby cards (1984)
There is possibly no other comedy movie from the 1980s with a bigger cult following than The Wild Life. This may be partly because of the music rights that held up its disc release almost thirty years after its theatrical and video releases. Even with Kino's 2021 offering, die-hard fans can still not imbibe the original film as it was intended. For that, you need to have the original video release, and because of this, the price of used The Wild Life video tapes continues to

From the ICFH Archives: Girly Pressbook (1970)
Girly (a.k.a. Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny, and Girly) is one of those movies wrongly categorized as an early 1970s splatter staple among the denizens of social media fan groups. It was, and still is, a horror-comedy, and effectively so. Why it has been elevated to a status beyond its intention is anybody's guess, but the fact that people are still talking about it fifty years after its release is cause for celebration. ICFH is proud to offer hi-rez scans of Girly's Cinerama release i

Robo Vampire (1988)
Some movies you really don't watch, you look at them. They still entertain, but when they are over, if you try to tell someone else about it, it sounds like you are trying to describe a weird dream you had. Robo Vampire is such a movie. I found it amazingly entertaining, but when it was over, I was at a loss to understand what it was about. I grasped the components that made up the film, but like a piece of modern tech, I was lost to describe how it worked. There is a plot. M

Scream VI (2023)
Have I really been watching the same Scream movie over and over again for 27 years. Why, yes. Yes I have. Scream is the slasher nerd franchise that combines all the best parts about slasher movies and delivers knife-thrills with a great cast and a hefty budget. Most know the first four films were directed by Wes Craven. Fans of the first two felt the third was the weakest, then four felt a little flat some ten years later. The franchise was resurrected in 2022 by directors Ma

Not of this World: Edward Everett Horton: Hollywood's first Gunkle.(Gay-Uncle)
Warning: Edward Everett Horton is a lot to type. So I sometimes call him Horton or E.E.H. The previous sentence has been a heads up. Born in that cauldron of entertainment, Brooklyn, New York, Edward Everett Horton sprang forth on a sunny March 18, 1886, a Thursday as it was, a comedic genius arrived on the planet. A comic actor of genius. A master of the double take. The man who put the word "priss" in prissy. He possessed a voice and mysterious accent that gave no hint of h

He Who Types Between the Rows 2- Mark Sieber
If you are unfamiliar with Mark Sieber or Horror Drive-in , He Who Types Between the Rows 2 is an excellent primer. First of all, Mark Sieber is one of us. He has been a fan of all things horror for a long time. You don't need to meet him to know him. He holds dear his memories of friends, beers and Friday night double features at the local ozoner as much as he cherishes the times he spent roaming the hallowed shelves of his local video shops, taking an armful of tapes home f

Michael Cole's Shredders- Pulp Horror Done Right!
When environmental activists flood Lake Carlson in Lorenzo, Michigan with a hybrid Bluegill/ Piranha (so the fishies can chew through nets and fishing lines), hard-nosed small town cop and single dad Royce Dashnaw is up to his badge number in floating skeletons stripped of all flesh and covered in bite marks. The deadly feeding frenzy is headed downstream where his daughter is with a babysitter on a party pontoon of potheads and hotheads. What else do you need? I had no idea

There's No Business Like Show Business When You Do Business With A.I.P-The 1975 Exhibitors Package
One of the most exceptional exhibitors packages ever sent out by American International Pictures was the 1975 Preview Of Coming Attractions. A bulky folder shaped like a colossal movie ticket measuring 9¾ X 14½. Inside are twelve equally sized advertisements, shaped like movie tickets, printed in the gaudiest print colors available at that time on quarter-inch cardboard stock. Eleven of these feature A.I.P.'s 1975 roster of pictures, and one is for Cinerama pictures to be dis

In Memorium: Bert I. Gordon (1922-2023)
Mr. B.I.G. passed away today, March 8, 2023, in Los Angeles at 100. His daughter Patricia Gordon has confirmed. What can we possibly say about the film legacy Bert Gordon has left us? There isn’t a single person reading this post that hasn’t watched at least one of Gordon’s iconic films, either in a movie theater or on television, and among those of us that adore his films (and the man himself) his body of work can be described as nothing short of fantastic. Looking back on t

Ghost Story Discovery!
Ghost Story Discovery! When George Finds gold in between the pages. Maybe gold is a little much. Finds zinc! You may not have wanted this, but one of you asked me to write my recollections from my youth at the Movie Theater months ago. Specifically, it wasn't this story you were after, but providence struck. And you get what you get. By providence, I noticed Stephen King's The Stand was on the wrong shelf. Quick note, I had a brief flirtation with Mr. King's writing and am a

A.I.P.-1978 & Beyond
Nothing stirs the creative juices here at the Chicago home office of ICFH like acquiring a long-sought-after piece of movie marketing material. In this case, it is the exhibitor's package sent out by American International Pictures concerning their upcoming 1978 roster of movies. Now that we have a near-mint copy in our archives, we thought it was time we shared it with all of you. Here are some hi-rez scans of the exhibitor's package. As an added bonus, I've included an int

M3GAN (2023)
As soon as we meet Cady, we see that she is like any other tech obsessed 8-year-old in a horror movie. She is on a ski trip with her parents. As soon as we meet the parents, we see they are like most young parents in current horror movies; incapable of making good decisions, bickering and driving head long into some of the oldest clichés in the history of horror cinema. (I mean, who heads to the slopes at night in a whiteout snow storm? Oh, yeah. I remember. Most young parent
